Your Impact

As a Manufacturing Lead, you will be the primary operational leader for assigned manufacturing areas, driving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and People Development (SQDIP). You will lead and develop Area Leads and Operators, improve manufacturing processes, and partner across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Production Control, and EHS to deliver reliable, high-quality products. This role offers the opportunity to build leadership capability, influence operational strategy, and create sustainable improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

Location: Onsite at our Phoenix, AZ facility
Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor
Direct Reports: Area Leads and production personnel within assigned manufacturing departments

  • Lead daily manufacturing execution across assigned areas, ensuring performance against Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and People Development (SQDIP) goals.

• Promote and sustain a safety-first culture by monitoring safety performance, enforcing PPE and 7S standards, leading safety audits, and partnering with EHS to resolve systemic concerns and implement preventive actions.

• Serve as the departmental point of contact for quality escalations, investigations, and audit readiness; ensure adherence to manufacturing procedures, work instructions, SOPs, and quality standards.

• Lead defect-reduction efforts through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, performance monitoring, and sustainable process-improvement plans.

• Drive execution of daily production plans to meet customer demand, throughput, OEE, labor-efficiency, and delivery targets.

• Support Tier 1 and Tier 2 management systems, maintaining accurate reporting, clear escalation paths, and timely resolution of operational issues.

• Partner with Planning, Supply Chain, and Production Control to align staffing, material availability, WIP, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, scrap reduction, and production priorities.

• Lead and coach Area Leads and Operators through regular one-on-ones, on-floor mentoring, skill assessments, performance discussions, and development planning.

• Manage labor allocation and staffing strategies across shifts to ensure workforce readiness, training completion, certification progression, and achievement of operational objectives.

• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous-improvement initiatives that strengthen safety, quality, material flow, productivity, and cost performance; standardize and sustain best practices across the department.

• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, continuous learning, and effective communication across shifts, departments, and leadership teams.

• Support hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and the development of future subject-matter experts, Area Leads, and Manufacturing Leads.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years in a lead, trainer, coordinator, or supervisory capacity.

• Demonstrated experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment, including labor planning, performance coaching, training, and employee development.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 7S, root-cause analysis, process optimization, and continuous-improvement methodologies.

• Strong understanding of production operations, quality systems, inventory and material management, manufacturing equipment, and process controls.

• Ability to use production metrics and reporting systems to evaluate performance, identify trends, resolve issues, and make data-driven decisions.

• Advanced workstation certifications and demonstrated process expertise, or the ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.

• Strong written and verbal communication, cross-functional collaboration, escalation management, conflict-resolution, and change-management skills.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12-hour shift and lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment requiring PPE and adherence to controlled-environment procedures.
