Position Overview:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer performs specialized engineering assignments with moderate complexity, working independently on design elements and providing technical guidance to junior team members. This role requires a professional with developmental experience who can manage projects with minimal supervision while maintaining established quality and timeline standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Execute detailed and routine engineering assignments, including calculations, testing, and analysis using established procedures
- Gather, correlate, and validate engineering data using well-defined methodologies
- Independently complete primary design elements and engineering deliverables
Problem-Solving & Quality Assurance:
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in engineering results and data
- Propose solutions to new technical challenges by adapting standard procedures and leveraging previous project experience
Project Management:
- Manage assigned work within agreed-upon budgets and schedules with minimal supervision
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum 15 years of progressive professional experience in mechanical engineering design, analysis, and project execution
- Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East region
- Proven expertise in performing detailed engineering calculations, testing, and analysis using industry-standard methodologies
- Demonstrated proficiency in independent design element development and engineering deliverables
- Strong track record of managing engineering projects within budget and schedule constraints with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical discrepancies and engineering challenges
- Experience providing technical mentoring and guidance to junior engineering staff
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's) in Mechanical Engineering or specialized engineering discipline
- Extensive experience with Saudi Arabian construction codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors
- Proficiency with advanced CAD and engineering analysis software
- Project management certification or equivalent experience
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams
