We're on the hunt for a passionate, dedicated, Social Worker to join our team in Wellington! Please note, this is a contractor role, with hours varying based on workload and business requirements.

About the role

Reporting to your Team Leader, you’ll be part of a vibrant team culture that supports and empowers each other every day. Key responsibilities;

  • Support clients with housing, financial and community-based needs
  • Navigate MSD and ACC processes with clients, including advocacy and applications
  • Assist with court-related matters (e.g., reports, attending hearings when appropriate, liaising with legal services)
  • Connect clients with services such as mental health providers, parenting support
  • budgeting, or family support agencies
  • Help clients understand and access community resources and entitlements
  • Provide practical support around safety planning, whānau dynamics, and social barriers impacting rehabilitation
  • Collaborate with the MDT to ensure social and environmental factors are included in rehab planning

What you'll bring

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration/ certification
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication with clients, whānau and stakeholders
  • At least 2 years' experience working in a social work or community services environment
